From State to Structure: an XML Web Publishing Framework
نویسندگان
چکیده
We present the main features of a system designed to support the development and delivery of web applications through concepts for modularity, reuse and rapid prototyping. The system is based on an extended object-oriented database system that manages both application data and publishing information in terms of content, structure and presentation. The process of information delivery uses dynamically generated XML documents for both content and presentation based on state-dependent composition of components and templates.

Content Request Markup Language (CRML): a Distributed Framework for XML-based Content Publishing
Construct web applications to provide dynamic, personalized web contents with high scalability and performance is a challenge to the software industry in the new Internet era. In most available solutions, load balancing and caching mechanisms are introduced in front of web servers to reduce workload. In this paper we present Content Request Markup Language (CRML), an enabling techniques for dis...
متن کاملKNSP: A Kweelt - Niagara based Quilt Processor Inside Cocoon over Apache
To study the exact operation process of web publishing systems, we installed and studied the Apache Web server, Jakarta-Tomcat Servlet Engine, Cocoon web publishing framework and the Kweelt Quilt processing mechanism. We partially replaced KSP (Kweelt in Cocoon) processor with Niagara 1.0 and realized an interesting KNSP, Kweelt and Niagara based Server Page processing scheme. Section 2 introdu...
متن کاملPublishing XBRL as Linked Open Data
The XML Business Reporting Language (XBRL) is a standard for business and financial information reporting. It is based on XML so instance documents based on XBRL, e.g. a quarterly report, are highly constrained by the XML document-oriented nature. This makes more difficult to perform queries that mix information from filings from different dates, companies, or accounting principles than with a ...
متن کاملGeneration of Web Applications from Uml Models Using an Xml Publishing Framework
In this paper we present a method for the semiautomatic transition from the design models of a Web application to a running implementation. The design phase consists of constructing a set of UML models such as the conceptual model, the navigation model and the presentation model. We use the UML extension mechanisms, i.e. stereotypes, tagged values and OCL constraints, thereby defining a UML Pro...
متن کاملDTD-Directed Publishing with Attribute Translation Grammars
We present a framework for publishing relational data in XML with respect to a fixed DTD. In data exchange on the Web, XML views of relational data are typically required to conform to a predefined DTD. The presence of recursion in a DTD as well as non-determinism makes it challenging to generate DTD-directed, efficient transformations. Our framework provides a language for defining views that ...
